Our method has been refined over nearly a decade, helping hundreds of clients across two sites and through thousands of training sessions to build strength, confidence, and long-lasting results. How Semi-Private works
Our Semi-Private Personal Training in Tarporley runs in 12-week phases, designed to help you build strength, confidence, and consistency.
Each session is guided by one of our expert coaches and tailored to your individual needs, whether you’re completely new to training, returning from an injury, or looking to take your fitness further. We adapt your programme around your body and your goals, so you’re always moving forward safely and effectively.
Every person in the group has their own plan, but you’ll share the motivation, focus, and encouragement that come from training alongside like-minded people. It’s the best of both worlds, the attention of personal training, with the community spirit of a small group.

Semi-private personal training is a coached session with a maximum of four members to one coach. You train to a structured programme that’s adapted to you individually, giving you the quality of personal training at a lower cost, with the energy and accountability of a small group around you. It’s the most popular way to train at Instinct, and the one most members tell us they can’t imagine giving up.
In a class, the coach leads the group through the same workout. In semi-private, you have an individual programme, your weights, your progressions, your goals, and a coach who is focused on you. The group gives you energy and accountability, but your training is personal. It’s a meaningful difference.
No experience needed. Many of our semi-private members came to us having never trained in a gym before. Your coach will make sure every session is built around where you are, and you’ll never be put in a position that doesn’t feel right for your level.
Most members train two to three times per week in semi-private sessions, whilst others add classes alongside. Your coach will help you find the right frequency for your goals and your schedule. Consistency matters more than volume; we’ll help you find what’s sustainable.
